Stoney Point, Henderson Harbor, NY~2003

On an anvil shaped peninsula at the entrance to Henderson Harbor, this privately owned lighthouse was built in 1869, replacing an earlier light built in 1830. The 50 foot tower, which has not been in service since 1945, is the original structure. The attached keeper's dwelling is being renovated and updated, as you can see in the photos. Access is limited, and visitors are kept to a distance by a stone wall plastered with "Private Property" and "No Trespassing" signs.
