Shoal Point Lighthouse ~ outside Eagle Bay, NY ~ 2000

This little gem took three hours of hunting, up and down camp driveways (thanks, Sue), to find a spot from which to get its portrait. Built some time in the late 1800s, and originally lit by a kerosene lamp tended by a man named "Raymond," this light sits at the end of Cold Spring Camp road. In 1918, NYC developer and property owner Otto Eidlitz ran an electric line to the light. Now in disrepair and unlit for many years, the new owners will be working with a lighthouse restoration group to repair and relight this beautiful little lamp.
