Photography is just a hobby for me, a pleasurable pasttime that gets me out of the house, into the fields, and under the trees!
The photos on these pages were taken in the Central Florida area with a "point and shoot" Olympus digital C750Z, and to get a good photo of each in its natural growing state sometimes requires lying flat on my stomach in the middle of dense leaf litter or swampy humus. (Thanks to the many bicycle enthusiasts who always shout out a warning but sometimes must wait until I finish my shot.)
I've attempted to identify as many species as possible, but mushrooms have many "look-alikes," and it takes an expert eye to tell one speces from another; sometimes the only difference is the color of a spore print.
WARNING: This is not intended as a field guide; its' all about the beauty of these fabulous Florida fungi!
