Black Point Wildlife Drive in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Florida is a seven mile, one way road through a broad, flat expanse of salt marsh, bordered by the Indian River on one side and the northern tip of Merritt Island on the other. This time of year, the marsh is loaded with wading birds, sparrows, and various other wildlife, and the temperatures make it a pleasant experience with few bothersome insects. Photo opportunities pop up around every twist in the road. Cars don't bother the wildlife, so closeups are easy to get.
