My passion for them began in 1988 on a trip to Maine with my family; I saw one standing there, on the rocky cliffs of the ocean's shore--strong, beckoning, evocative. I clambered over slippery boulders and rocky paths to frame a shot of it. My camera was an Olympus OM1, brand new, just out of the box, with a 75-150mm zoom lens. Rather than capturing the image, however, it captured me, and I have been on a hunt for lighthouses ever since. Now I shoot with an Olympus digital and process my own prints. Be sure to check back from time to time for more. Enjoy your stay; prints are available for many of the lighthouses on this site. Find information, below. Note: There are two ways to navigate this site. You may click "continue," above, and follow my journey from the first light (Bass Harbor) which began my quest,  through all the lights, one at a time, in the order in which I visited them, or you may select specific lights from the index, below. If you wish to skip around, click on a lighthouse name in the links at the bottom to go directly to that light.
