Another great flower for bouquets is the daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum). Ubiquitous in upstate New York fields and gardens in a number of varieties, it is an introduced species from Northern Europe.
A neighboring summer cottage is named after these bright and cheerful blossoms. Oddly enough, the daisy has been added to many states' "pest" lists, as they spread easily and make pastures unsuitable for grazing cows.
