Egg Rock Light, Maine ~ 2004
As you drive around "the Loop Road" in Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island in Maine, near Seal Harbor, a tiny speck of a lighthouse is visible in the distance. Egg Rock Light (this view is at low tide) was put into operation in 1875 because of expanded ferry service in and out of the bay. This photo was taken from the loop road with a digital 10X zoom lens. The light sits at the southern entrance to Frenchman's Bay.
