John helped his brother Charles build two dollhouses, one for Charlie's daughter Sheila and one for Charlie's niece, Jane. Together, they spent many hours in their basement workshops cutting individual panels for the outside walls, shingles for the roof, and wainscoting for interior rooms. They even imagined children playing in the house as they designed the staircase with a landing and newel posts.
Over the years, Sheila has furnished her house with much love and attention to detail.
