Twin Lights, Cape Elizabeth, Maine ~ 2004

Driving down Twin Lights Road along Casco Bay brings you directly to the only one of two "twin" lighthouses that is still working. This is the "east" light.

Up the hill and around the corner gets you close to the second or "west" light, which is no longer in working condition.

Built in 1874, both lights were at work until 1924. Today the west tower is privately owned.
